Timothy DeThorne Sr., and Cynthia DeThorne of Scotia announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley DeThorne to Michael Morita, son of Lincoln Morita and the late Marilyn Morita of Kapaa, HI. Ashley is the granddaughter of Janice Jette and Jacklyn De Thorne; and the late James Jette and George DeThorne Sr.
The future bride graduated from the College of Saint Rose, with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/special education and a master’s degree in literacy. She is a substitute teacher.
Her fiance is a graduate of Idaho State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in education and Bucknell University where he received his master’s degree in education. He is assistant football coach at the University at Albany.
A June 2009 wedding is planned.

The future bride is a graduate of Schenectady High School and received her bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY New Paltz. She received her master’s degree from the University at Albany. She is a kindergarten teacher in Fort Myers, FL.
Her fiance is a graduate of Schenectady High School and RPI, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business management. He is a sales associate at City Furniture, Fort Myers, FL.
Kevin proposed to Michelle on the scoreboard at Yankee Stadium. A June 2009 wedding is planned.
Amy Mathusa and John Sgueglia were married September 6, 2008. The ceremony and reception were held at Greenvale Vineyard in Portmouth, RI. Rev. Stephen Klinger officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Donna Crankshaw of Middle Grove and the late Michael W. Mathusa of Gloversville. The groom is the son of Giovanni and Mary Sgueglia of Schenectady.
Matron of honor was Lisa Goodwin, sister of the groom. Flowergirls were Gianna and Niara Goodwin, nieces of the groom and Adrianna Mathusa, niece of the bride.
Best man was Michael A. Mathusa, brother of the bride. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her grandfather, Donald B. Walrath of Gloversville.
Amy is a graduate of the University at Albany, where she received her bachelor’s degree in sociology. She is currently a student at Ohio Sate University, enrolled in the Master of Science Nursing Program. She is a registered nurse and health care coordinator at Absolute Care Management in Columbus, OH.
The groom is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where he received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He is a senior electrical engineer at Honda Research and Development Americas in Raymond, OH.
Heather Mannato and Giuseppe DeFilippo were married July 5, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady. Father Richard Carlino officiated. A reception followed at Mallozzi’s in Rotterdam.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Mary Ann Mannato of Rotterdam. The groom is the son of Giovanni and Giovanna DeFilippo of Schenectady.
Maid of honor was Michele Mannato. Bridesmaids were Jessica Paone, Melissa Hindes, Julie Foster, Amy Nuzback and Fortunata Paglialonga.
Best man was Massimo DeFilippo. Ushers were Christopher Mannato, Fabio Franco, Daniel DeMarco, Gianpaolo Franco and Angelo Paglialonga.
The bride graduated from Mohonasen High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Rose and her masters degree in literacy from the University at Albany. She is a kindergarten teacher at VanCorlaer Elementary School, Schenectady.
Her husband graduated from Schenectady High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from the College of Saint Rose. He is operations administrator at Met Life, Rensselaer.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas and Hawaii. They reside in Rotterdam.

Sarah is the daughter of Catherine Lynn Hurley of Saratoga Springs and Michael and Irene Palma, also of Saratoga Springs. Matthew is the son of Robert and Teri Sullivan of Brooklyn.
Maid of honor was Kerry Doonan. Bridesmaids were Johna Rich and Anita Kelley. Flowergirl was Gabriella Palma. Junior bridesmaid was Maya Hoffman.
Best man was James Deciutiis. Ushers were Dan Sullivan, Dan Palma, Peter Hudson, Man-Yee Kwok and Dave Sullivan. Ringbearers were Jake and Matthew Rothheim-Sullivan.

Her husband is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo and Fordham University Law School. He is an attorney with the U.S, Dept. of Labor, in New York City.
