Engagement: Grant and Callahan

Elaine Brusoe Grant of Amsterdam announces the engagement of her daughter, Kendra Suzzette Grant, to Keith Richard Callahan, son of Keith Robert Callahan and Debora Susan Manti, both of Schenectady. Kendra is also the daughter of the late Joseph E. Grant.
The future bride attended Vero Beach High School, FL. She is employed by Lowe’s in Schenectady.
Her fiance attended Niska-yuna High School. He is employed by the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation.
A September 2009 wedding is planned.


Miller-Marble

Stepahnie Miller of Clifton Park and Raymond Miller of Schenectady announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacy Miller, to Andrew Marble, son of Lorie and Wayne Marble of Waterford.
The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Shenendehowa High School. She is manager of the collections department of Trustco Bank.
Her fiance is a 2003 graduate of Waterford High School and also has an associate degree in criminal justice from Hudson Valley Community College. He is employed by Waterford Clock Company and the Shipping Room in Waterford.
A December 2008 wedding is planned.

Clarence and Eleanor Culpepper of Scotia announce the engagement of their daughter, Kerri Culpepper, to John Guthrie, son of Edward and Lin Guthrie of Ballston Lake.
The future bride is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, SUNY Brockport and Sage Graduate School. She is a sixth-grade teacher.
Her fiance is a graduate of Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School. He is a parts advisor.
A June 2009 wedding is planned.

John and Janice Shoemaker of Scotia announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Marie Shoemaker, to Patrick Stephen Beauchemin, son of Jerry and Tina Haldeman of Scotia and Stephen and Sharon Beauchemin of North Carolina.
The future bride is a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and SUNY at Oswego. She is a keyboard specialist for New York State.
Her fiance is also a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. He is pursuing his business degree at Schenectady County Community College. He is employed by Omnis Computers as a network technician.
A fall 2009 wedding is planned.


Fetcho-Frear
Engagement: Fetcho and Frear

Ronald and Patricia Fetcho of Scotia announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Christine Fetcho, to Matthew William Frear, son of William and Veronica Frear of Scotia. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert A. Breault. Matthew is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sollecito.
The future bride is a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and the College of Saint Rose. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the College of Saint Rose. She is employed by Ellis Hospital Foundation.
Her fiance is a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and SUNY at Cortland. He will graduate in May 2009 with a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Sage College.
A September 2009 wedding is planned.


George and June Hakes 60th Anniversary
Anniversary: Hakes

George and June Hakes of Gloversville recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Their children treated them to a family celebration dinner at the Blue Ribbon Diner in Schenectady.
The couple were married September 10, 1948 in Ukiah, CA. The former June Hassett graduated from Healdsburg High School in Healdsburg, CA. She was primarily a homemaker but worked occasionally at various jobs, including the Johnstown infirmary, while raising her four children.
Her husband attended Philadelphia Bible College for two years. He then entered the field of commercial printing and in 1969 became the Fulton County, NY Supervisor of Printing, where he stayed until he retired in 1994.
Their children are Georgia Hakes of Sprakers, NY, Stephen (Nancy) Hakes of Glenville, NY, Philip (Barbara) Hakes of Valatie, NY and Gregory Hakes of Johnstown, NY. They also have four grandchildren.
