Girard-Craver
Engagement: Girard and Craver

David and Lori Girard announce the engagement of their daughter, Bridget Girard to Michael Craver, son of Helen Craver of Scotia and Al Craver of Glenville.
The future bride is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Schenectady County Community College, with an A.A.S. in early childhood. She is a staffing specialist at the Companies of J. J. Young.
Her fiance is a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and ITT Tech with an A.A.S. in computer and electronic technology. He is a field service technician for Giant Solutions.
A June 2009 wedding is planned.


Green-Schultz
Engagement: Green and Shultz

Elizabeth Carrie Eleanor Green and Gregory James Schultz have announced their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Janet Green and Rick Green, both of Ballston Lake. The future groom is the son of Jim and Susan Schultz of Burnt Hills. He is the grandson of Jean Diesem of Rexford.
Liz is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and Rutgers University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish linguistics and her master’s degree in language education. She is a high school Spanish teacher.
Greg is a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and Rutgers University, where he received his doctor of pharmacy. He is a pharmacist.
Liz and Greg were high school sweethearts and have been dating for seven years. Greg proposed in El Yunque, The Rainforest in Puerto Rico, with Liz’s grandmother’s engagement ring.
A summer 2009 wedding is planned in Puerto Rico.

Engagement: Perras and Leonard

Don and Paula Perras of Latham announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Leigh Perras to Thomas Matthew Leonard, son of Gary Leonard and Sharon Leonard, both of Schenectady.
The future bride is a graduate of Shaker High School and Herkimer County Community College, with an associates degree in Radio & Television Broadcasting. She is a graphic artist for the Daily Gazette Newspaper.
Her fiance is a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He is a pressman at the Daily Gazette Newspaper.
The couple plan an October 2009 wedding.


Christopher-Herzog
Wedding: Christopher and Herzog

Rebecca L. Christopher and Philip K. Herzog were married April 5, 2008 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Rochester, NY. A reception followed at Terry Hills Golf Club, Batavia, New York.
The bride is the daughter of Paula Christopher of Scotia and David Christopher of Ft. Myers, FL. The groom is the son of Richard and Deborah Herzog of Brockport, NY.
Rebecca is resident director at the College at Brockport. Philip is is an equipment operator for the Town of Sweden, Brockport.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Dominican Republic.


Lucca-Crate
Wedding: Crate and Lucca

Shannon Elizabeth Crate and Matthew James Lucca were married April 5, 2008 at St. Mary’s Church, Wilmington, NC. A reception followed at Bluewater Grill in Wrightsville Beach, NC.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Carol Crate of Wilmington, NC. The groom is the son of Linda Lucca of Niskayuna and the late James Lucca.
Maid of honor was Colleen Murtaugh. Best man was Casey Lucca, brother of the groom. Ushers were Tom Crate and Daniel Crate, brothers of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She is an educator at the Aquarium at Ft. Fisher. She is currently pursuing her teaching certification in secondary education in science and social studies at UNC-Wilmington.
Her husband is a graduate of Niskayuna High School and Castleton College, VT. He is employed at Alpha Omega Health Care, providing services to youths and young adults with special needs. He is pursuing his teaching certification in elementary education at UNC Wilmington.


Aragona
Anniversary: Aragona

Anthony (Tony) and Nellie Aragona of Schenectady recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a special family dinner at the Stockade Inn.
The couple were married October 26, 1958 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Amsterdam.
The former Nellie Dandreano graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She is retired from the Canteen Corp. with over 20 years service. She enjoys cooking, doing word puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband attended Nott Terrace High School. He is retired from the General Electric Co. with over 30 years service. He enjoys gardening, traveling to their winter home in Boynton Beach, FL and spending time with his grandchildren.
They are the proud parents of Ursula and Jeff LeGere of Glenville, NY and Anthony and Heather Aragona of Schenectady, NY. They are the devoted grandparents of Matthew Le Gere of Glenville, and Christian Aragona of Schenectady.


King
Anniversary: King

Louis and Joan King of Scotia recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Millstone Restaurant, Burnt Hills. The dinner was given by their daughter Sharon King.
The couple were married October 11, 1958 at the Scotia Methodist Church.
The former Joan Caldwell graduated from Scotia schools and is a retired vice-president of 1st National Bank of Scotia. She enjoys driving her Harley Davidson, playing golf, working out at the gym, and spending time with her family.
Her husband graduated from Colonie Schools, and is a self employed contractor. He enjoys driving his Harley Davidson, golf, hitching and driving draft horses and family time.
They have one granddaughter, Courtney King, of Scotia.


Welsh
Anniversary: Welsh

Keith and Nancy Welsh of Scotia, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner party at Riverstone Manor, Scotia. The party was hosted by their daughters and spouses, Joan (Scott) Peterson of Dacula, GA., and Sharon (Gary) Riggi of Scotia; and Roz Streeter, sister of Nancy, and Rose Newcomb, mother of Nancy.
They also renewed their marriage vows on October 18, 2008 at the Albany Diocesan Marriage Jubilee, held at St. Clare’s Church in Colonie, with Bishop Howard Hubbard presiding.
The couple were married August 23, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Church, Scotia.
The former Nancy Newcomb is a graduate of Draper High School. She retired from Schenectady County Community College in 1996.
Her husband is a graduate of Scotia High School and attended the American Institute of Banking. He is a retired banker, retiring in 1997 as senior vice-president of First National Bank of Scotia.
The couple also have three grandsons, Matthew, Joshua and Paul Riggi, all of Scotia.
