Engagement: Capaldo and Bubenicek

Robert and Anne Frost of Schenectady and William Bubenicek of Wallkill, announce the engagement of their son, Eric Bubenicek to Courtney Capaldo, daughter of Susan Eastburn of Coatesville, PA and Frank Capaldo of Atlanta, GA. Eric is also the grandson of Eleanor Fessenden of Princtown.
The future bride is a graduate of Trinity High School, Camp Hill, PA and received her bachelor’s degree from Susquehanna University, PA. She is employed in automated data processing in Manhattan as a district manager.
Her fiance is a graduate of Schalmont High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Hartwick College, Oneonta. He is employed by Paychex, Inc., Manhattan as a district manager.
A July 2008 wedding is planned.


Thomas-Palmer
Engagement: Thomas and Palmer

Jean and John Thomas of Schenectady announce the engagement of their daughter, Cheryl Thomas to Leo Palmer III, son of Mary and Leo Palmer Jr., of Schenectady.
The future bride is a graduate of Schenectady High School and the University at Albany, where she received her bachelor’s degree. She is employed by the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance.
Her fiance is a graduate of Bishop Gibbons and Siena College, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He is branch manager at Citi Financial in Queensbury, NY.
A July 2009 wedding is planned.


Doherty-Roberts
Engagement: Doherty and Roberts

Kenneth and Debra Roberts of Edinburg are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Jason David Roberts, to Lauren Kate Doherty, daughter of Thomas and Shirl Doherty of Northville. Jason is the grandson of Roland and Carol Coppola, and Marcel and Helen Roberts, all of Schenectady. Lauren is the granddaughter of Frank and MaryBet Haux of Bolton Landing and the late James and Dorothy Doherty of Corinth.
Lauren received a B.A. in American studies and anthropology at Skidmore and a master’s degree in public history from the University at Albany. She is employed at Curtin Archaeological Consulting, Inc. in Ballston Spa, and is the Town of Day historian.
Jason graduated from F.M.M.C.
with an associate’s degree in construction. He is a partner with Roberts Building and Remodeling, Inc, building custom homes at the Great Sacandaga Lake.
A June 6, 2008 wedding is planned to be held in Saratoga Springs.


Andrew T. Schroeder Erin M. Ciupek
Engagement: Ciupek and Schroeder

John and Sherry Ciupek, of Schenectady, announce the marriage of their daughter, Erin Marie, to Andrew Thomas Schroeder, son of Robert and Grace Schroeder of Long Island, NY on February 29, 2008.
Erin is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Hartwick College. She is currently employed at The Rolling Pin Bakery in East Setauket, Long Island.
Andy is a graduate of Ward Melville High School and SUNY Oneonta. He is currently employed as an audio production specialist for the Town of Brookhaven, Long Island.
The college sweethearts tied the knot in the town of Oneonta, where they met.
A reception for Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder is planned for July 2008.


Jeffrey T. Iovinelli Jennifer L. Bennice

Jennifer Lynn Bennice and Jeffrey Todd Iovinelli were married October 19, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady. Rev. Richard Carlino officiated. A reception followed at the Century House, Latham.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Kathy Bennice of Scotia. The groom is the son of Edward and Linda Iovinelli Jr. of Scotia.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Mossey. Bridesmaids were Allyson Iovinella, Kristin Collins, Samantha Wagner, Kendron Millspaw, Andrea Gentner, Maria Giroux, Crystal Beauchemin, Lori Smith, April Hall and Stacie Iovinelli. Flowergirl was Ashley Stewart.
Best man was Matthew Dickson. Ushers were Michael Bennice, Omarr Akari, Phillip Dickson, Joseph Caracciolo, Joseph Pompei, Jason Knightes, Jamie Sykes, Theo Georgelos, Brian Zeppitelli and Joel Bianchi. Ringbearer was Broderic Bianchi.
The bride is a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and SUNY at Alfred, SUNY Institute of Technology and currently attends Sage Graduate School. She is a registered nurse at Bellevue Women’s Care Center, Schenectady.
Her husband is a graduate of Niskayuna High School and SUNY Brockport. He is a police officer at the University at Albany.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Australia and Tahiti.


Daniel Magil Caitlin Schiesswohl

Caitlin Schiesswohl and Daniel Magil were united in marriage on July 27, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church of Schenectady. Rev. E. Wesley O’Neill and Rev. Lorenzo Agnes officiated. A reception was held at the Canfield Casino, Saratoga Springs.
The bride is the daughter of Philip and Christine Schiesswohl of Marilyn Drive, Glenville. The groom is the son of Robert and Mary Lou Magil of Sunset Boulevard, Altamont.
Maid of honor was Peronelle Schiesswohl, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ruth Ashburn, Amy Johnson, Abigail McQueen, Kristin Seaburg and Rebekah Wassenaar. Madison Magil, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
Best man was Christopher Magil, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Ian Milne, Michael Ross, Christopher Vincent, James Vincent, Bill Wey and Jeremy Wannamaker.
The bride is a graduate of Schenectady Christian School, Calvin College with a BA in Psychology, and The College of Saint Rose, with an MS in School Psychology. She is a school psychologist with the Albany City School District.
The groom is a graduate of Schenectady Christian School and Rochester Institute of Technology with a BA in graphic design. He is a graphic designer and founder of Arche Modern Design Studio.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico.


Robert and Donna Travis 50th Anniversary
Anniversary: Travis

Robert and Donna Travis recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their wedding vows and a dinner party at Glen Sanders Mansion, attended by family and friends. The party was given by Bob and Donna Travis and family.
The couple were married April 13, 1958 at Our Lady of Assumption Church.
The former Donna Santore is a graduate of Schalmont High School. She enjoys golf, winters in Florida, shopping, reading, cooking, boating, family and grandchildren.
Her husband also graduated from Schalmont High School. He is owner of Bob’s Transmission Service. He enjoys golf, curling, hunting, being at the lake and boating, fishing and his granddaughters.
Their children are Robert Travis Jr. of Amsterdam and Rick and Kathy Travis of Clifton Park. Their grandchildren are Stacy Travis of Schenectady, Heather Travis of Schenectady and Kate Calabash of Clifton Park.
Bob will retire this year, after selling the business he owned and managed for 48 years. They plan to travel and enjoy their lake house and play a lot of golf.


Shaun P. Jeram Nicole M. Hearn

Nicole M. Hearn and Shaun P. Jeram were married October 13, 2007 at Scotia United Methodist Church, Scotia. Rev. Pamela Hayes officiated. A reception followed at the Rotterdam Elks Club.
The bride is the daughter of Ernie and Sherry Hearn of Scotia. The groom is the son of Larry and Patty Jeram of Rotterdam.
Maid of honor was Elise Hearn, the bride’s sister. Bridesmaids were Katie Epting and Shelby Zannitto. Flowergirl was Tori Belott.
Best man was Josh Williams. Ushers were Sean Patricia and Josh Jeram, brother of the groom.
The bride graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School and SUNY Oneonta, where she received her BS in Communication Studies with a minor in Public Relations.
The groom graduated from Schenectady High School and
the University at Albany, where he received a BA in History with a minor in Africana Studies.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. They reside in Rotterdam.
