Michael and Joyce Smolinsky of Glenville, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Marsha Joyce, to Daniel McGrath Denefrio, son of Fred and Suzanne Denefrio of Niskayuna.
The future bride, a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and Hudson Valley Community College, received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of Saint Rose. She is a high school English teacher for Neil Hellman School of Parsons Child and Family Center in Albany.
The future groom, a graduate of Niskayuna High School, received a bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany, and also studied at the American University of Rome. He works at the corporate office of designer Kenneth Cole, where he is the divisional coordinator for Reaction Women’s Footwear. He lives in Manhattan’s West 50’s.
A January 2nd wedding has been planned.
Walter and Sandra Lippmann of Schenectady, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennette Lynn Lippmann to Curt Edward Stephens, son of Robin Larkin of Sloansville and Carl Stephens of Esperance.
The future bride is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and Schenectady County Community College. She is a quality control specialist at MVP Health Care.
Her fiance is a graduate of Cobleskill-Richmondville High School and SUNY Cobleskill. He is a senior computer operator for the New York State Office For Technology.
An August 2008 wedding is planned.
Peter and Karen Jendzeizyk of Glenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Nicole Jendzeizyk to Edward McNamara, son of William and Greta McNamara of Loudonville.
The future bride is a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of Saint Rose. She is a first-grade teacher at Albany Community Charter School.
Her fiance is a graduate of Shaker High School. He received both his bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University at Albany. He is employed by The Ayco Company.
An October 2008 wedding is planned.
Clifford and Marva Mango of Charlton, NY recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a dinner dance held at the Rotterdam Elks.
The party was given by their children and spouses, Karen and Ray Grinmanis, Clifford and Kelley Mango, Patti and Bill Rorick, and Brenda and Jeff Dorfer, and their six grandchildren.
Among the 150 guests attending were five long time friends who were also members of their original wedding party.
The couple were married on October 27, 1957 at Scared Heart Church in Schenectady, New York.
Cliff is a U.S. Navy veteran and served in Korea during his tour of duty. He is retired from G.E. after 30 years of service. He now enjoys playing golf, darts and traveling.
Marva enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing and baking. She now enjoys golf, gardening and traveling.
Marisa Sgueglia and Brian Caprara were married July 13, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Church, Schenectady. Father Bob DeMartinis officiated. A reception followed at Glen Sanders Mansion.
The bride is the daughter Nando and Maria Sgueglia of Schenectady. The groom is the son of Ralph and Susan Caprara of Schenectady.
Maid of honor was Elisa Wickham. Bridesmaids were Caterina Sgueglia, Biagina Wickham, Maria Caprara, Karen Caprara, Melissa Swan and Lisa Evans. Flowergirl was Mattison Swan.
Best man was Gabriel Perillo. Ushers were John Kochem, Biagio Guida, Butch Marx, Anthony Holden, AJ DeLucia, Ryan Peterson and Ryan Gleason. Ringbearer was Nando Wickham.
The bride is a graduate of Mohonasen High School and the College of Saint Rose, where she received her master’s degree in educational psychology. She is a third-grade teacher in the Lansingburgh Central School District, Troy, New York.
Her husband is a graduate of Schalmont High School. He is an autobody technician at AC Bodyworks, Schenectady.
The couple resides in Rotterdam.
