Sarah Anne Filipski and Steven Charles Schaefer were married October 20, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Syracuse. A reception followed at LaFayette Hills Golf & Country Club.
The bride is the daughter of David and Margaret Filipski of Syracuse. The groom is the son of Kenneth and Terri Schaefer of Schenectady.
They reside Syracuse.
Sheryl D. Cruz, daughter of Ellen D. Cruz of Lakewood, California and Dugald C. Jackson, son of Dugald C. Jackson IV and Sharon Jackson of Niskayuna, were married May 5, 2007 in San Pedro, CA. The ceremony was officiated by Jennifer Albano and attendants were Letcia Rilloraza and James Sykes.
A reception followed at the home of the bride’s mother in Lakewood, CA. An east coast reception was held on August 25, 2007 at the home of the groom’s parents.
The bride received a BA degree from California State University, Long Beach. The groom received a BS degree from SUNY Binghamton. They are both employed by State Fund Compensation Insurance of California.
Following a honeymoon trip to Catalina, the couple now reside in Glendale, CA.
Kenneth and Connie Coons of Clayton, NC recently celebrated their 50th weeding anniversary with their children in Nashville, TN.
The couple were married at Church of Assumption, Mechanicville, NY on November 23, 1957.
The former Constance Maiello graduated from Mechan-icville High School. She retired from Federal Civil Service in 2000. She enjoys painting, crocheting, interior decorating and cooking.
Her husband is a graduate of Stillwater High School. He is U.S. Navy retired, 1975. He retired from Federal Civil Service in 2000. He enjoys woodworking, gardening and NASCAR.
Their children are Col. Kenneth Coons, U.S.A.F., Montgomery, AL., Dawn Coons, Waynesville, NC, Keith Coons, San Diego, CA and Maryanne Barragan, Nahsville, TN. They also have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
During the past 50 years they have resided in MA, CT, Scotland, SC, VA, Guam and CA; retiring to Clayton, NC in 2003.
Bob and Joan Grabowski of Burnt Hills recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party attended by numerous relatives, including nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The party was held in their summer home on Bogue Sound, Emerald Isle, NC and hosted by their five children and their spouses.
The couple were married October 5, 1957 at Sacred Hearts Church in Scranton, PA.
Joan is a graduate of Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA and attended Keystone College. She was a registered nurse. She enjoys gardening, crafts, reading and music.
Her husband is a graduate of Bucknell University. He is a mechanical engineer. He enjoys fishing, gardening and sports. Their children are Robert Jr., of Glenville, Richard and wife, Jane of Omaha, NE, Susan Lacey and husband, Robert of Fairfield, CT, David and wife, Patti of Belair, MD., Ellen Kurtz and husband, Frank of Glenville.
Joan worked as a private duty nurse, then at Baptist Retirement Center and Conifer Park, before retiring. Bob worked at G.E. for 19 years, then 10 years at Unitech and Petrotech, retiring in 1997 but still active in consulting.
