Engagement: Higgins and Plume

Michael and Judy Higgins of Glenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Caitlin R. Higgins, to Christopher S. Plume, son of Steven and Kathy Plume of Springdale, AR. Caitlin is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Higgins of Mechanicville and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Herold of Rexford, NY. Christopher is the grandson of Charles and Mary Daniels of St. Peters, MO and Ruby Plume of St. Charles, MO.
The future bride is a graduate of Niskayuna High School and is currently a student at Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH. She will graduate in May of 2009.
Her fiance is a graduate of Cedarville University, with a degree in mechanical engineering and is a graduate of the Air Force ROTC Program. He is a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and is an air battle manager at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL.
A May 2009 wedding is planned.

Engagement: DeBrita and Goodspeed

John DeBrita of Scotia has announced the engagement of his daughter, Jessica Anne DeBrita, to Steven Goodspeed, son of Tom and Eleanor Goodspeed of West Glenville. Jessica is also the daughter of the late Linda DeBrita.
The future bride attended Scotia-Glenville schools and earned a bachelor’s degree from Elmira College and a master’s degree from the College of Saint Rose. She is a guidance counselor at Middleburgh High School.
Her fiance attended Scotia-
Glenville schools and is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. He is an independent contractor for FedEx Ground.
A July 2009 wedding is planned.

Curt Stephens Jennette Lippmann

Jeanette Lynn Lippmann and Curt Edward Stephens were married August 15, 2008. The wedding and reception were held at Mallozzi’s, Rotterdam. Rev. John Califano officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Walter and Sandra Lippmann of Rotterdam. The groom is the son of Carl Stephens of Esperance and Robin Larkin of Sloansville.
Maid of honor was Courtney Furbeck. Matron of honor was Kimberly Place. Bridesmaids were Lauren Incitti, Meghann Novak, Tricia Pezzano, Stephanie Saxton and Alysha Stephens. Flowergirl was Natalie Belanger.
Best man was Brian Borthwick. Ushers were Walter Lippmann II, Derek Place, Nicholas Larkin, Jeremy Porter, Jason Horth and Anthony Scolaro. Ringbearer was Zachary Place.
Jennette is a graduate of Schenectady County Community College. She is a quality control specialist at MVP Healthcare in Schenectady. Curt is a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill. He is a senior computer operator at the NYS Office for Technology, Albany.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Cape Cod. They reside in Rotterdam.

Gerald and Marylou Snyder 50th Anniversary

Gerald and Marylou Snyder of Fort Plain recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise dinner party with family and friends at the Winner’s Circle, Fonda.
The couple were married October 26, 1958 at United Methodist Church, Gloversville.
The party was given by their daughters, Penny Arduini and Mary Hudson, both of Canajoharie, Holly Baird of Westfield, MA, Robin Spicer of NC and Geri Stever of Fort Plain. They also have 13 grandchildren.

Jack Sr. and Dorothy Falvo 60th Anniversary
Anniversary: Falvo

Jack Sr. and Dorothy Falvo of Schenectady recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a dinner at The Waters Edge Lighthouse Restaurant. The dinner was hosted by their children and spouses and attended by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The couple were married August 22, 1948 at St. Anthony’s Church, Schenectady.
The former Dorothy Cavaliere graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Mildred Elley.
Her husband graduated from Vocational School of Auto Mechanics. He owned and operated Schenectady Auto Service until 1980.
From 1980 until 1990 they were property managers at Our House at the Beach on Siesta Key, FL; then property managers at Broadway Center in Schenectady until their retirement in 1997.
They enjoy golfing, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Their children are Jacky and Stan Norman, Nick and Denise Falvo, Janice and John Abbale, Jack and Kate Falvo, John and Julia Falvo, and Jean and Patrick Neville. Their grandchildren are Jeff Norman, Jason and Janet Norman, Nicholas Falvo, Natalie Falvo, Rebecca and Adam Leonardo, Eric Abbale, Brian and Colleen Abbale, the late Jack Falvo III, Jared Falvo, Jessica Falvo, Sarah Falvo, Nicole Falvo and Lisa Falvo. Their great-grandchildren are Jackie O’Connell, Cole Leonardo and Reagan Leonardo.
