Wedding: Johnson and Coffey

Michelle Johnson and Jeffrey Coffey were married October 7, 2007 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glenville. Fr. Jerome Gingras officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Cindy Johnson of Glenville.
The groom is the son of Tom and Joan Coffey of Rochester. Maid of honor was Stephanie Johnson.
Bridesmaids were Terri Bovenzi and Kate Ostergren. Best man was Mike Whitehair. Ushers were Michael and Stephen Coffey.
The bride is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo. She is a special education teacher at Palmyra-Macedon Middle School in Palmyra.
The groom is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a human resource specialist for Paychex, Rochester.
A reception was held at Panza’s Restaurant in Saratoga Springs. The couple reside in Wolworth , NY.


Jesse Roberts Mendenhall - Renee Jean Brickner
Wedding: Brickner and Mendenhall

Jesse Roberts Mendenhall and Renee Jean Brickner were married May 5, 2007 at St. Mary’s Church, Galway, with Father Brian List officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Frederick and Pauline Brickner of Galway. The groom is the son of Dean and Kathy Mendenhall of Tuftonboro, NH.
Maid of honor was Kristie Brickner. Bridesmaids were Megan Teresco, Heather Brickner, Tara Kelly, Jyll Evans, Emily Fullerton, and Dawn Keyes. Flowergirl was Tessany Schou.
Best man was Thomas Schou. Ushers were Shawn Brickner, Scott Brickner, Steve Huff, Jeff Turgeon, Brian Keyes and Chris Moore. Ringbearer was Zachary Scott Brickner.
The bride is a graduate of Galway Central High School and received her BS degree from Northeastern University, Boston and is currently working on her MBA at Bentley College, Boston. She is an industrial engineer at Teradyne, Inc., North Reading, MA.
Her husband received his BS degree from Northeastern University, Boston and is currently working on is MBA at Babson College, Boston. He is a mechanical engineer at Magne Motion Inc., Acton, MA.
A reception was held at the Hall of Springs, Saratoga. The couple honeymooned in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. They now reside in Brookline, NH.


Coutant
Anniversary: Coutant

Al and Irene Coutant of Glenville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows with Rev. Peter Russo at St. Joseph’s Church in Scotia on November 17, 2007.
Their children totally surprised them with a party in August at Galway Lake with family and friends and celebrated again on the actual date at a dinner at the Turf Tavern.
Their children are Sharon Styk and husband, Mike of Latham., Greg Coutant and wife, Leesa of the Rochester area and James Coutant and wife, Maureen of Queesnbury, NY. Al and Irene were married November 17, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church, Schenectady.
The former Irene Wojcicki graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and attended the College of Saint Rose. She was at one time employed at KAPL and in the insurance business.
Her husband is a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and Union College. He was employed by General Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1994.
They have six grandchildren, Steve and Brian Styk, both in college; Amy, Rachel and Sara Coutant of Rochester and Glen Coutant of Queensbury.


Ferguson-Mathias
Engagement: Ferguson and Mathias

Amber Lynn Ferguson and Jeremy Ryan Mathias have announced their engagement. Amber is the daughter of Myron and Linda Ferguson of Galway. She is the granddaughter of Alfred and Theresa Ferguson of Broadalbin and Robert and Dolores Piska of Amsterdam and the late Helen Piska.
Jeremy is the son of Hal Mathias of Galway and Sheila Londerno of Melville, LA. He is the grandson of Ruth Mathias of Galway and the late Hal Mathias and Edna Beers and Willard Armer, also of Galway.
The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Galway High School and a 2006 graduate of Elmira College. She is a media sales executive for WCWN.
Her fiance is a 1998 graduate of Galway High School and owner of JM Construction, Galway.
An August 2008 wedding is planned.


Jablonski-Deshane
Engagement: Jablonski and Deshane

Paul and Diane Jablonski of Amsterdam announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Jablonski, to Todd Deshane, son of Kim French of Brasher Falls, NY and Alex Deshane Jr. of Massena, NY.
The future bride and groom are both currently pursuing their PhD’s in engineering science at Clarkson University.
A February 2009 wedding is being planned.

Engagement: Johnson and Oakes

Mark and Debra Johnson of Schenectady announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Marie Johnson to Charles Oakes, son of Lisa Smith of Delanson and the late Charles I. Oakes.
The future bride is a graduate of Schenectady High School and currently attends SCCC, pursuing her associate degree in business administration.
Her finance is a graduate of Schenectady High School and SCCC. He served in the U.S. Army. He belongs to Carpenters Local 370.
The couple have a daughter, Olivia Marie Oakes. A February 24, 2008 wedding is planned.


Kenney
Anniversary: Kenney

Richard and Joyce Kenney of Delanson recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family vacation in Outer Banks, NC. A family party was also held at the home of Jean Heikaus, given by the family.
The couple were married September 21, 1957 at St. Vincent dePaul Church; Elmont, New York.
The former Joyce Ann Wortmann graduated from Sewanhaka High School and Southhampton School of Nursing. She was a school nurse for Yates Magnet School of Schenectady; taught the nurse aide course at SCCC and was a practical nurse clinical instructor at BOCES. She enjoys quilting and gardening.
Her husband is a graduate of Oceanside High School, Albany State, SCCC and Empire College. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and the Army National Guard. He was a Vo Tec teacher at Linton High School and Schoharie Vo Tec. He enjoys golf and woodworking; baseball and softball. He was also an official for high school football, basketball and baseball.
Their children are Linda (Don) Collins of Schenectady, Jean Heikaus of Guilderland, Dennis (Val) Kenney of Duanesburg and Patricia (Dan) Derico of Latham.
Their grandchildren are Andy and Bob Heikaus of Guilderland, Rachel, Erika and Madeline Kenney of Duanesburg and Sam and Angela Derico of Latham.


PERRINO-SZAROWSKI
Engagement: Perrino and Szarowski

Frank and Vikki Perrino of Saratoga Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Autumn Marie Perrino, to John Donald Szarowski, son of Donald and Helen Szarowski of Greenville, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, Ellis Hospital School of Nursing and SUNY at Utica Rome. She is a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bangor, ME.
Her fiance is a graduate of Cairo/Durham High School and Cazenovia College. He is employed by Borders Books & Music, Bangor, ME.
A February 29, 2008 wedding is planned.


Quinn
Anniversary: Quinn

Thomas and Donna Quinn of Schenectady recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They married December 7, 1957 at Sacred Heart Church, Schenectady.
The former Donna Botkis graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. She was a special education teacher’s aide, retiring in 1994.
Her husband is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and Siena College. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1stlieutenant. He was an administrative analyst for the NYS Dept. of Labor, retiring in 1995.
Their children are Sean Quinn and his wife, Kristen., Daniel Quinn and his wife, Maureen., Lois Mazzone, Peg Burch and Roddy Quinn, all of Schenectady, and Liam Quinn of Waddington. Their son Francis Quinn and son-in-law Jim Burch reside in heaven.
Their grandchildren are Quinn and Tomasina Burch, Lucia and Gio Mazzone. The couple enjoy the love of many “children and grandchildren of the heart”, including Lexie Woods, Donald Willey and Karen Jane Caisse.


Schuleter
Anniversary: Schlueter and Schleuter

Robert and Clara Schlueter of Scotia recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were honored at a senior luncheon at First Presbyterian Church of Schenectady and at a surprise party at the Raindancer Restaurant, Amsterdam, given by their sons and daughters-in-law, Chip and Penny of Galway and Daniel and Crystal of Lusby, MD. It was attended by many local friends and a great many out of town relatives and friends.
The couple both graduated form Barrington College, R.I. and SUNY Oneonta. Robert served in the U.S. Army two years in Japan. They both retired from Scotia-Glenville Schools.
Clara enjoys gardening and needlework. Robert enjoys photography and they both love to travel.
They have three grandchildren, Erin, Matthew and Anna.
